Tips from an alternative person

- be yourself: dress for yourself, indulge in what makes YOU happy, and be there for yourself- "cringe" is dead, do whatever tf you want as long as its not problematic and hurts people- if you use spotify you can use Spicetify to customize it. and if you have an android, you can use spotifyinfo.app.- get a USB drive - load it with movies and shows or games or whatever - it's worth the money and is portable.- get a pile of CD disks. again, you can burn mixtapes and basically whatever you want and have the joys of keeping things physical and organized. (+ PC connector and a CD player/Discman.)- buy old consoles secondhand - you can mod them, and its a less stimulating alternative to what we have these days. (+ make sure to get external storage for them)- you likely wont find demonias or tripp pants at the thrift - you scan for potential and learn to style and customize.- the hardware section can be your best friend when it comes to DIY- how to make a battle jacket/vest: fabric softner + paint = fabric paint. get some leftover fabric from whatever, (ex. could be an old shirt) thrift a jacket or a vest, and go for it.- learn how to sew, thank me later- buying things second hand isnt disgusting. its better for the environment.- the web isnt boring - you just dont know where to look- learn what the term "poser" means. like forreal because some of you are insane- if you want to participate in a subculture you HAVE to learn its history. dead serious. and the "basic/starter bands" while you're at it.- gatekeeping isnt cool and it isnt what we stand for, so don't do it. sharing is indeed caring.- its okay to find alt music through tiktok... just be careful out there damn...- you can buy official band shirts and patches and whatever if you want to and you're able to, supporting your faves is awesome. but remember: you can make shirts and stuff yourself too.
